With heavy hearts we announce that Marjery June Kiep, 92, of Wheaton passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025 at Covenant Living at Windsor Park in Carol Stream. Born October 23, 1932 in Joliet, Illinois, Marjery was the daughter of Arthur and June (nee Allai) Seppi, whose families both originated from northern Italy. Marjery's mother, June, was born in Mulberry, Kansas in 1906, and her father, Arthur in Casez, Italy in 1905. Marjery was married to John "Jack" Kiep in January of 1953 while he was finishing studies at St. Ambrose college in Davenport, Iowa. Upon Jack's return from military service in Germany during the Korean War, he and Marjery moved to Wheaton to start their family. As a stay-at-home mom, Marjery's life centered on her home where she cultivated a nurturing sanctuary for her family. A diehard Chicago Cubs fan, Marjery began attending games at Wrigley Field with her father, Arthur, when she was just a young girl. Following decades of heartbreak, her loyalty paid off when she was finally able to celebrate "her Cubbies'" World Series victory in 2016. Throughout the years, Marjery developed a keen interest in travel as her adventurous spirit led her to explore many domestic and international destinations. An avid bridge player, Marjery always had "bridge dates" on her calendar playing several times a month with a circle of dear friends. Other hobbies included gardening, needlepoint, reading, tennis and taking care of her beloved dog Winslow. Throughout the years, Marjery also volunteered at local food pantries, Meals on Wheels America, Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Marionjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, and the Treasure House Resale Shop in Glen Ellyn. Though her life was full with diverse interests and hobbies, it was her family that always came first. Her superpower was making every child, grandchild, and great-grandchild feel like the sole focus of her universe. As the heartbeat of our family, Marjery will be remembered through her endless love and never-ending support, her unique wit that filled our lives with laughter, her boundless generosity and her steadfast strength. Marjery is preceded in death by husband Jack (John William Kiep, 2004). Surviving family members include son Michael, daughter Julia Howard (Michael), brother Larry Seppi, brother Roger Seppi, grandchildren Matthew, John, Mark, Jack, Daniel, Kaitlin and Kate, and her great grandchildren Madelyn, Ava, Jackson, Zoey, Ethan, Elliot and Maya. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may donate to Philanthropy of Windsor Park Benevolent Care Fund. Mail check to 124 Windsor Park Drive, Carol Stream, Illinois 60188 or donate online at https://covliving.org/contact-us/donation/ (make sure to select "Covenant Living at Windsor Park – Benevolent Care" in the Gift
