Marjorie Jane Parker Basnight, age 93, of Camden, NC, died at her home on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born in Elizabeth City, NC, on May 28, 1932, to the late Ralph H. Parker, Sr. and Beulah Meads Parker, she was the widow of Henry Murfin Basnight, her husband of 45 years. An Air Force wife for 20 years, she followed her husband all over the United States. She was a strong-willed and independent woman. She loved to read, play croquet, and sit on her porch swing and watch the neighbors. A member of the Craftsman Guild, she was famous for her handmade Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra B. Rowe (Johnnie); a son, Roger A. Basnight (Susan); two half-brothers, Thomas Parker and Jack Parker; four grandchildren, Josh Rowe (Rachel), April Turner (Brad), Tony Basnight, and Robert Basnight; and four great-grandchildren, Carson Rowe, Kamryn Rowe, Maddyx Turner, and Roddick Turner. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Agnes Armstrong, and a half-brother, Ralph Parker, Jr.

A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at West Lawn Cemetery, with Chaplain Kevin Reiver officiating.
