Marjorie Jean Bowman, of Rices Landing, formerly of Upland, Pa., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on October 1, 1929, in Great Bend Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles Jack and Hazel Marie (Chilson) Kirmes.
On August 31, 1946, Marjorie married the love of her life, William Bowman. Together, they shared 78 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on February 24, 2025. Marjorie dedicated much of her life to nurturing not only her family, but also the landscapes around her with her green thumb. In May of 1999, Marjorie and William moved their family to Greene County, where Marjorie would enjoy her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.
Marjorie was a former member of Chichester Baptist Church, Chichester, Pa., and a current member of Calvary Baptist Church, Uniontown, Pa. She found great joy and comfort in her faith, dedicating time each and every day to pray and read her bible. In her free time, Marjorie enjoyed the craft of embroidery.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jean Marie Grimm of Rices Landing; daughter-in-law, Jeannine Bowman of Benton, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jason A. Bowman, Jeremey M. Bowman, Charles Grimm, Dawn Pope, Holly Borst, and Amy Dobies; great grandchildren, Kristen, Macie, Matthew, William, Justin, Ashlynn, Shaine, Joshua, Summer Marie, Liberty, and Glory; great great grandchildren, Shaine Jr. and Rian; and sister, Constance Marie Richardson of Delaware.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Michael S. Bowman and James A. Bowman; son-in-law, Charles Grimm; granddaughter, Heather Ryan; and brothers, C. Jack Kirmes and Robert A. Kirmes.
Family and friends are welcome to a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Grove Methodist Cemetery, West Chester, Pa.
