Marjorie Heywood Brothers, 89, of Lemoyne, formerly of Lake Meade, Pennsylvania, died April 19, 2025, after a short illness.
Born in Gloucester, Massachusetts on August 3, 1935, she was one of six children of Francis Cady Heywood and Harriet (Fuge) Heywood. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara B. Kline, and her husband Jeffrey of York, and Karen B. May, and her husband Robert, of Lemoyne, two grandsons, David & Andrew May, each of New York, and two sisters, Harriet Stambaugh of Indiana, and Mary Jean Tedrow of New York. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Carl E. Brothers, D.D.S. (2009), her son Ronald (1983), her daughter Pamela (2002), and her siblings Isabelle Rhodes, Francis Heywood, and Jane Brown.
Margie graduated from Holyoke High, and from Smith College in 1957. Margie enjoyed her active lifestyle at Lake Meade. She and her family raised Chianina beef cattle on their farmland adjacent to the lake community until 2002. She was a member of the Hanover Country Club and was an avid golfer into her early eighties. Always cheerful, Margie was loved by many and will be sorely missed.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut St., Camp Hill. The family will also receive friends at a reception to be held in the church following the service. A private inurnment will be held in the church columbarium. Myers-Baker Funeral & Cremation Services, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
