Elaine Brook Brothers

Our beautiful Elaine Brook Brothers, also known as "Lainey Lou Lou," "bits," "EE," "Ms. Brothers," "little one," and "Brothers," passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2025. Elaine passed too soon at the young age of 39 years old. Elaine was known as a very loyal and passionate person, always interested in helping those who were less fortunate than her and one that would never shy away from standing up for what she believed. If you knew Elaine, you knew her unique infectious laughter, and fun-loving spirit. Her life was defined by her immense love for the special people in her life.
Elaine was born on May 9, 1986, in Dallas, Texas to James Timothy Brothers and Jane Madison Smith. Elaine spent her younger years growing up in Coppell, Texas and graduated from Coppell High School in 2004. Elaine then earned her undergraduate degree from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. One of her favorite experiences from college, was having the opportunity to study abroad at "HUF," Harding University in Florence, where she lived in a villa in Florence, Italy with her lifelong friend Leigh. Elaine went into sales for years following her graduation, but in 2012 decided to move back to Texas closer to family and get her teacher certification. Elaine then taught special education for 8 years in the San Antonio ISD schools where she lived out her passion in helping inner-city children receive the best education possible. She advocated for their educational rights and loved "her kids" as they too loved Ms. Brothers. She won the prestigious award of "Teacher of the Year" while teaching at Irving Middle School in 2019 and served as Master Teacher. Elaine also earned her Master of Education in Educational Administration in 2019. Although Elaine's life was cut much too short, she made the most of it through traveling and exploring every chance she had, being in nature, hiking all the trails with her cherished dog "Zenki baby", and spending time with the closest of friends and family whom she fiercely loved.
Elaine is preceded in death by her loving father James Timothy Brothers, her beloved grandparents Bob & Gena Brothers and Jake & Betty Smith, her Aunt Darlene Grayson and cousin Stephen Grayson.
She is survived by her parents John and Jane Summers, her sister Paula Mokry and husband Weston, and their three children Mason, Emery, and Liv, as well as her brother John Summers IV. Elaine was survived by many incredible friends and her teacher community.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to their family and friends, for their love and support during this difficult time as well as to the Ebensberger Fisher funeral home in Boerne.
