Marjorie Rose Bystedt was born in St Cloud, Minnesota on December 10, 1938. She attended Cathedral High School and College of Saint Benedict.
She met and married Warren Bystedt. They moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where they had five beautiful children, all boys. Warren became a school superintendent, and the family moved to Davenport, Iowa.
It was there, in 1981, where Marjorie's youngest son, John was in a bicycle accident that caused severe head trauma. After a long hospitalization, Marjorie and Warren were able to take their son home. They decided to move somewhere more suitable for his recovery and eventually decided on Grand Junction, Colorado.
Marjorie, a devout Catholic, became a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and was very involved in church activities as well as local groups where she had many friends. She excelled in arts and crafts creating delicate china paintings, elaborate embroidery, quilts, jewelry and stained glass. She, and her husband of 59 years, cared for their disabled son together until her husband's death in 2021. Later that year she would also lose her son, Joseph.
In 2023, she decided to move with John to Florida where her son, Peter, lived. She became a member of All Saints Catholic Church and made friends there as well. She started painting elegant watercolors. Marjorie passed away on October 19, 2025 at Empathy Health in Palm Harbor. She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren Bystedt and her son, Joseph. Survivors include 4 sons, Paul, Corpus Christi, TX, Peter, Palm Harbor, FL, Michael, Los Angeles, CA, and John, Palm Harbor, FL. Marjorie had 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
