To the dismay and regret of everyone who was fortunate to know her, Marjorie "Carol" Cimini (96yo) passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov 14, 2025, in her residence at Brooksby Village.

She was born on April 13, 1929, in Lynn, MA to Edward and Madeline Conner and was raised in Nahant, MA. True to her coastal roots and a lifelong "beach baby"; she lived close to the ocean most of her life. She graduated from Lynn English High and Burdett College, then was employed at the GE in West Lynn. She met her husband Lt. Libero "Lee" Cimini who also worked at GE at Riverworks as an Engineer in the Jet Engine Division, and they were married in 1955. They raised 3 children, living first in Nahant and then in Salem for over 50 years. She worked "school hours" at the Sheriff's Dept and Cabot Financial while raising her family and caring for her elderly mother at home for 13 years. She was a Lifetime Honorary Member of the Salem Garden Club and had a wide and eclectic group of friends. She was a multi-talented artist working with water and oil painting, stained glass, and embroidery mediums; plus creating amazing costumes for her children. Her children's birthday parties always included a craft activity, so each guest went home with something they enjoyed making. She loved animals and lived with a menagerie of dogs, birds, gerbils, lizards and whatever random wounded animal that we brought home. A memorable pet was her parakeet "Chippy", who she taught to say, "Happy Christmas and Merry Easter", (despite unending attempts to get it right). She was always impeccably dressed and (as the family joke states) wouldn't go out without "putting her face on", even if the house was burning down around her. She was incredibly proud of her 3 grandchildren and loved spending time having adventures and celebrating family events with them.

In later years she moved to Brooksby Village with her husband and after he passed on Nov 21, 2016; the last few years of her life were spent with the extraordinary people in the Brooksby Memory Care Unit. Words cannot adequately express the amazing care, support, compassion, dedication and love provided by the entire family of the Memory Care staff. She was known affectionately as "the Butterfly Lady" because of all her butterfly belongings; as well as "the Nap Queen" due to her habit of taking a nap on the closest unoccupied bed (though not necessarily her own). We would like to express our deep gratitude, appreciation, love and admiration for our Brooksby family who share our loss.

Carol is survived by her children; Wendy Miaskiewicz (Joseph Miaskiewicz), Tina Cimini and Richard Cimini along with her grandchildren; J.J. Miaskiewicz, Tony Miaskiewicz and Chelsea Cimini. She was a wonderful mother, grammy, wife and friend whose kindness, warmth, generous spirit and universal love is her legacy that lives on in the lives she touched with the deep affection she gave so freely. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished by all who love her. Like the butterflies you loved, fly free on a warm breeze, Mom Flutterby.

Visiting Hours for Carol will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Murphy Funeral Home, from 4-8pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be on Friday November 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Greenlawn Cemetery, 57 Orn St. Salem, MA to symbolize the reuniting of Lee and Carol on the 9th anniversary of Lee's passing. The family invites all who can attend a luncheon at Danversport starting at 11:45 on Friday, November 21.
