Marjorie Faye Covington, a kind-hearted and outgoing soul, entered this world on January 6, 1927, in Marble Hill, Georgia, to the late Howell Perry and Ruby Grogan Covington. Peacefully departed on November 10, 2024, in Grayson, Georgia, at the age of 97. Known for her warm and loving nature, Marjorie brought joy to all those who knew her.
Marjorie, a dedicated secretary in the food industry at Kraft, always had a passion for connecting with others. She also spent several years doing research for the American Cancer Society. Her love for playing cards with her senior citizen group at the church on Tuesdays, having lunch with her cherished family, and enjoying shopping and cooking brought light to many lives.
As the second oldest among her seven siblings, Marjorie cherished her family dearly, especially She had a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews, and her loving spirit will be deeply missed.
Marjorie always found joy in the simple things, be it shopping, cooking, or attending fashionable events like lunches and fashion shows at Rich's Magnolia Room, and traveling to destinations like Europe, Hawaii, and New York. Her vibrant personality and sweet demeanor earned her the endearing term, "sweet as candy."
A celebration of Marjorie's life and her impact on those around her will be held at her graveside service at North Atlanta Memorial Park on November 14, 2024, at 2:00 pm, following a funeral service at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel at 1:00 pm. Visitation for friends and family will take place at the same location on November 13, 2024, at 5:00 pm and November 14, 2024, at 12:00 pm.
Marjorie Faye Covington will be remembered for her love, kindness, and infectious positivity. In her spirit, let us honor her memory and the beautiful moments we shared with her.
