Marjorie Ann Driscoll, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished wife of the late Lt. Commander Allen Driscoll, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, in Virginia Beach, VA. She was 86 years old. Born on May 19, 1939, in Somerville, MA, Marjorie led a life dedicated to her family and community.
As a devoted homemaker, Marjorie poured her heart into raising her children and supporting her husband's naval career. Her home was a sanctuary filled with warmth and love, where she skillfully crafted clothing for her children, ensuring they were always dressed and coordinated. A woman of faith, she prioritized her family's spiritual life and committed to attending church as frequently as possible.
Throughout the years, Marjorie made significant contributions to her community. She served as a Girl Scout leader and actively participated in the PTA boards of each of her children's schools. Her leadership extended to the Girl's Chesapeake Softball League, where she held positions as president and treasurer. In addition, Marjorie contributed her talents to the Naval Officer's Wives Club and was celebrated for her exceptional hosting skills at her husband's military events. Her culinary expertise was renowned, and she delighted in sharing her love of food with others.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Commander Allen Driscoll; her mother, Marjorie Bowse Driscoll; and her father, Vincent Bowse. She is survived by her loving children: Kimberley Whitesell, Deborah Simmons, Kristine Creekmore and husband Clay, and Michael Driscoll and wife April. Her memory lives on through her brother, Lawrence Bowse of Seabrooke, NH, and her seven grandchildren: Kolby DeHart and husband Jonathan, Evan Whitesell and wife Stacey, Karlie Wortham, Katlin Creekmore, Courtney Kraften and husband Jason, Jessica Driscoll and fiancé Kevin, and Zachary Driscoll. Marjorie also leaves behind four great-grandchildren: Shaw DeHart, Sidney DeHart, Nash Whitesell, and Averie Whitesell, as well as a host of friends she made throughout her life.
A private family gathering will celebrate Marjorie's life in Virginia Beach. The family will have a placement in the Niche with her late husband, at Albert G.
