WARREN - Marjorie A. "Marge" Dunkerton, age 93, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Margie was born on December 28, 1930 in N. Bloomfield as the second of six daughters to the late Herbert "Paul" and Anna Vysock Dunkerton.
Margie graduated from North Bloomfield High School, where she would say "I taught the teachers." She has worked in different places such as Rutnick's on the muck in Bloomfield, and also cut down wrapped and sold Christmas trees in Middlefield. When she was old enough she started employment in the rubber plant and others in Middlefield. She then found employment at Packard Electric (G.M.) in Warren, where she retired after 30 plus years in 1986.
She was a lifetime faithful member of the Methodist faith. When she was younger she enjoyed playing baseball with her dad as her coach. After the games, they would go cool off with a few cold ones. She was a lifelong fan or the Cleveland Guardians and the Cleveland Cavaliers teams. Marge loved camping with Joni, her sisters and brothers-in-law. But then the allure of the casinos grabbed her attention. She sat behind the wheel of her motor home and they drove to Las Vegas twice, and after that she set her sights on every casino from Vegas to New York, to Atlantic City and even Hollywood. Many of those trips were with her sisters Gloria and Linda, and closest friend and partner in crime of over 60 years, Joni Stoshak.
Margie was preceded by her parents, her sisters Loretta Bennett, and Doris Testa, and niece Cheryl Ferry. She is survived by her sisters Janette Parke, Cortland; Gloria Smith (Merle), North Bloomfield; Linda Taylor, Cortland; nieces and nephews Dennis Bates, New Lime; Joanne Parke-Davison (Jim), Chambersburg, PA; Jim Parke (Vickie), Brookfield; Mark Testa (Sue), Erie, PA; Mike Testa (Sue), Tallmadge; and Sandy, Cindy, and Bryan Haddle, FL; and great nieces and nephews, Dennis Jr., Andy, Chrissy, Kyra, Jarod, and Cory, and great-great niece and nephew Taylor and Aryk, as well as many friends, and her friend and roommate Joni Stoshak, also their precious toy poodle Princess, who she loved with all her heart.
Per her wishes, there will be no services for Margie. She was cremated, and a private interment will be held at a later date at Brownwood Cemetery in North Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, although she loved them, she would've loved to leave everyone with some words of wisdom: if you don't want wrinkles, use baby oil every day. More importantly, work to get and enjoy what you love, with the people you love, and where you love to be, and that's the secret to a long and happy life. Be kind to one another, and especially the animals, love the Lord, and everything else will fall in place.
