A funeral service for Marjorie L. (Lubeck) Ehrke will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Stamford, Nebraska with Pastor Thalia Woodworth officiating. Interment will follow at the Stamford Cemetery.
Marjorie Lea (Lubeck) Ehrke, 92 years of age, of Stamford, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. Marjorie was born in Stamford, on January 23, 1933, the youngest of five children, born to John C. and Meta M. (Tegtman) Lubeck. Marjorie was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church and later confirmed there too. She received her education from Stamford Public Schools and later graduated from Stamford High School, with the class of 1950. Following her education, she attended college classes at Kearney State College, for one year.
On May 6, 1951, Marjorie was united in marriage to Lloyd E. Ehrke at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Stamford. This union was blessed with five children: Leslie Ann, Leah Lynn, Leon Everette, Lyle Eugene, and Lisa Jean. The family made their home on a farm southeast of Stamford, where they engaged farming. Marjorie was a devoted mother, housewife, farmwife, and later grandmother, and great-grandmother.
While the kids were in school, Marjorie began working at Harlan Feeders, Inc., as a bookkeeper, retiring at age 87. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, putting together puzzles, and working word puzzles. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling league.
On May 6, 2018, the couple celebrated their 67th Wedding Anniversary. Together they enjoyed attending all of their children's and later, grandchildren's activities. In their younger years, Lloyd and Marjorie enjoyed roller skating. Throughout the years, they made many friendships attending card clubs, going to Husker bowl games, her beloved Triple P Club, and helping with the Stamford Newsletter on Mondays. A highlight of her retirement was attending The Price is Right.
Marjorie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Stamford, belonging to WELCA and also served on the church council, and Stamford Town Board.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd in February 2019; her siblings: Herman Lubeck and wife, Frances; Ralph Lubeck and wife, Martha Jean; Leo Lubeck and wife, Ilene; and Evelyn Petijean and husband, Keith; her in-laws: Lawrence Ehrke and his wife, Frances; Violet Bose and her husband, L.J.; and Willa Ralston and her husband, Tom; and a son-in-law, Terry Smith, Sr.
Marjorie leaves to celebrate her life; three daughters: Leslie Smith of Greenwood, Nebraska; Leah Ehrke of Queen Creek, Arizona; and Lisa Hirschfeld and her husband, Matthew of Gilbert, Arizona; two sons: Leon Ehrke and his wife, Janell of Orleans, Nebraska; and Lyle Ehrke and his husband, Delroy Cornick of Los Angeles, California; 10 grandchildren: Lona, Katie, Terry Lee, and Brandi Smith; Cole Uptagraft and his wife, Jana; Gavin Uptagraft; Haley Roberts and her husband, Bryce; and Parker Ehrke; and DeAngelo and Adric Hirschfeld; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Trintiy Lutheran Church in Stamford.
