Marjorie Sherman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 31, 2025.
Marjorie Rose Sherman, "MiMi" to her grandchildren, 90, of Bend, Oregon, peacefully passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025.

"Margie" was born November 4, 1934, in Boston, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Sylvia (Singer) and Mark Leibman and loving sister of Richie Leibman. Margie had a full life filled with family, friends, volunteer work, and world-wide travel. She loved helping others and exploring new places. She made a huge difference in many lives through her generous giving of time, money and support. Likewise, she had a special love of being on and near the water and spent many years volunteering and supporting -Shake a Leg Miami, St Charles Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, St. Jude's and many more. What made her most happy was witnessing her children and grandchildren thrive. Margie's pride and love for her children was evident by all she shared with her friends and all the photos of them that filled her home. Margie learned to love, and that culminating lesson shined with her family at her 90th birthday party that her children and grandchildren had for her. Margie enjoyed: flying with her son, Tony, baking for her daughter, Laura, visiting her son, Gene and his husband, Bob. She loved her visits with her grandchildren. She enjoyed crafts like needlepoint and beading. Margie was an avid reader and loved golf and tennis. Margie loved living at Touchmark, with the variety of friends she met over the years. Margie is survived by her children, Gene Bank (Bob Sherman), Laura (Joe) Forest, Tony (Rachel) Sherman and her grandchildren, Mikaela Francesca Forest, Marley Rose Forest, Anderson Elizabeth Sherman and Maxwell August Sherman. Margie is preceded in death by her parents, brother and husbands, Barron "Bunny" Bank and Larry Sherman, both, who she remained friends with for many years.

There will be a small private service with her immediate family to take place at Laura and Joe's farm in Bend, Oregon during the holiday season.
