Marjorie Ellen Thompson, age 95, passed away on March 4, 2026, at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Home.

Marjorie was born on February 6, 1931, in Brookfield, Missouri, the daughter of Neva Phelps. She was united in marriage to Charles Ray Thompson on May 31, 1949. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2006.

Marjorie worked for many years in the billing department at Pershing Memorial Hospital. In early years she helped keep the books for her husband Charles' milk route and worked cooking for the railroad and at Citizens Bank in Brookfield. She was known for her strong work ethic and dedication to her family.

She greatly enjoyed camping at Treasure Lake in Branson, Missouri, and loved traveling with her husband Charles. Marjorie was a member of Park Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of the Brookfield VFW Auxiliary #4557, where she remained active and connected with her community.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Ray Thompson (Mary) of Marceline, Missouri, Kevin Thompson (Janet) of Kentucky, James Thompson (Laura Cujia) of Kentucky, and Charlie Thompson (Cindy) of Kentucky; great grandchildren, Mikeal Thompson (Alexis Clark) of Marceline, Missouri, Jaycee Thompson (Karen Reynolds) of Mendon, Missouri, Dylan Thompson of Rothville, Missouri, Brandyn Thompson, Kristyn Hayes (Nathan), Cody Thompson (Caitlyn), Ellyn Thompson, Kaitlyn Thompson, Gracie Thompson, Emily Thompson, Hunter Thompson, Caleb Thompson, Dwayen Manning, Dylan Manning, and Kayla Stokes; several great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Ray Thompson; one son, Ronald Thompson; and one brother, Gene Phelps.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 11:00 am, at the Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield, MO. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Visitation will be Monday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield.

Memorials are suggested to the Brookfield VFW Auxiliary #4557.
