Marjorie Davis Walker passed away on January 15, 2026 at the age of 104.
She was born on January 22, 1921 in
Youngstown, Ohio. She was the daughter of Mabel Herbert Davis and James Peel Davis. Marjorie grew up in Youngstown and this is where she met the love of her life, Robert L. (Bob) Walker. They married in Rapid City, South Dakota on August 7, 1944 and the next day Bob left to fight in World War II as a bombardier on a B-17. When Bob returned, the Walkers began their life together. Bob was in sales and they were transferred often: from Ohio to Texas to Louisiana and back to Texas, back to Ohio and finally ending up in Texas. Marjorie (also known as Marge) was a great partner in Bob's career: travelling, hosting parties and developing great friendships. Marge was an avid golfer, dancer, bridge and piano player. They were blessed with five children and a full life of love and laughter. In 2004, Marge suffered a stroke that resulted in her left side being paralyzed. However, her mind, memory and love for life and the Lord continued to be strong. Marge was a charter member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 2727 Airline Road,
Corpus Christi, Texas.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Bob Walker, infant son, Robert Long Walker IV, her parents, two sisters and a brother and a great granddaughter. She is survived by her daughters: Susan Daubenspeck of
Corpus Christi, Texas, Sallie (Steve) Geneva of Georgetown, Texas and Nancy (Mark) Hickman of San Patricio, Texas; and her son, Peter (Kay) Walker of
Corpus Christi, Texas. Marge is also survived by her grandchildren: Jill (Mike) Clark, Houston, Texas; Julie Morris,
Corpus Christi, Texas; Jennie Almaraz, Georgetown, Texas; Zachary (Dorina) Mucher, Houston, Texas; Emily (Shane) Steffens, Montgomery, Texas; James (Martha) Daubenspeck,
Corpus Christi, Texas; Rachel (Kyle) Thompson, Calallen, Texas; Sarah (Carter) Drummond, Port Aransas, Texas; Andy (Hannah) Walker,
Corpus Christi, Texas; and Robert Long (Carol) Walker V, Austin, Texas. Marge is also survived by nineteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to Marge's caregivers over the many last years: Nelly Montenegro, Marta Araiza and Lilly Weatherell. The family also thanks the staff at the Waterford at Corpus Christi and Elara Hospice for all their loving care.
