It is with deep sadness and much love that the family of Mark Russell Baldwin announce his passing on August 2, 2023, after a lengthy battle with illness. He was just shy of his 50th birthday.
Mark was born on October 24, 1973 in New Hartford, New York, to Frank and Ruth Baldwin (Staggs). He lived in Utica, New York with his parents and four siblings, where he remained until completion of high school. Mark married the love of his life, his soul mate, Brandie Price on May 20, 2000, and together they moved to Kirkwood New York. Mark and Brandie had one daughter, Mara Logan Baldwin, who was Mark's "Best Friend". Mark was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was kind-hearted and funny in his relationships. His favorite hobbies were camping, hunting and fishing, and he was known to take back roads anywhere and everywhere just to enjoy the scenery. Halloween was his favorite holiday; he would often reminisce with Halloween stories from childhood right into his adult life. He enjoyed garage sales and browsing antique stores, and you could catch him often watching his favorite TV show MASH. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, lucky to have gone to see several games at the stadium. In his last years, when Mark became limited in his physical abilities, he took up diamond painting which filled his days with peace and joy. This was a hobby that many others took up after seeing Mark's passion for his "pictures."
Mark had a lifelong love for God, but in his last year he developed a very real and personal relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is because of this, his family finds comfort knowing they will see him again in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Mark is survived by his wife Brandie Baldwin, and their daughter Mara Baldwin. He will be missed by many including his father, Frank Baldwin; his stepfather Charles Staggs; and his mother-in law and father-in-law, Renee and James Hauss. Mark is also survived by his four siblings and their families: David Baldwin, Kathleen and Dominick LaParne, Kelly and Howard Britton, and Kerry and Raul Garcia; his sister-in-law Kelly Koury and her husband Francis, and their family; and brother-in-law Marc Hauss. Mark also leaves behind his furry family: Baby, Pretty and Mister. His beloved dog, Jasper, went on before him.
Mark was pre-deceased by his mother, Ruth Baldwin-Staggs; his maternal grandparents, Marion and Roland Feeney; and his paternal grandmother, Nellie Pamadora.
Mark's family gathered to celebrate his life privately at one of his favorite places, Gilbert Lake State Park.
