Mark Alan Becicka, 62, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2025, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Private family inurnment will be in Czech National Cemetery. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre are assisting the family at this time.
Mark was born on February 8, 1963, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Frank "Buzz" Jr. and Delores (Robertson) Becicka. He attended Prairie High School and achieved his GED from Kirkwood Community College. Mark was united in marriage to Leslie "Les" Eileen Sharpe on November 4, 1998, at Lake MacBride. He worked as a truck driver in the construction industry at T&K Roofing, ABC Supply Company, and Jay Proffitt Construction. Mark enjoyed playing cards with his friends and family, NASCAR, deer and coyote hunting, his pets and socializing with his friends from Lincoln Way Village and JW Pub and Grub.
Mark is survived by his son Mark (Paige) Becicka; grandchildren Charlie and Sawyer Becicka; brother Frank (Kim) Becicka; sister Sherri (Ron) Bettmeng; brothers-in-laws Jim (Jan) Sharpe and Gary Sharpe; sister-in-law Karen (Bob) Mercer; mother-in-law Gwen Sharpe; many nieces and nephews; special friends Laura Martensen, Jim and Candi Hoyt, Eric Osmundson, Kim Polton, Jason Rissman and many others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 22 years, Les Becicka; father-in-law Kenneth V. Sharpe; brother-in-law Robert "Bob" Sharpe; nephew James Allen Sharpe; and niece Stacey Lee Mercer.
In the Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
