Mark M. Bond

November 1, 1961 – September 16, 2025

Mark Bond, of Middleton, Wisconsin passed away at his home on September 16, 2025.

Mark was born and raised in Carbondale, Illinois, and graduated from Carbondale Community High School in 1980. Following the death of his parents, Mark relocated to Houston, Texas in 1985 to be near his siblings. During his time in Houston Mark met Ann Rieck and, in 1991, he moved with Ann to Middleton, Wisconsin to be closer to her family. Mark and Ann were married from 1997 to 2004.

Mark spent much of his career in the service industry. He was employed by Marriott in the 1990's and returned in 2003 where he remained for the next 22 years. Mark was well loved and respected by his coworkers and hotel management for his steadfast work ethic, his thoughtfulness, and his desire to help others succeed. He formed many lasting friendships during his tenure at Marriott and his presence will be deeply missed.

Mark's greatest enjoyment in life came from playing pool, playing his favorite music, and spending time with friends from his neighborhood who had become family. He was excited each year at the onset of football season because, win or lose, he championed his Green Bay Packers. Mark had a lifelong love of animals and rescued several. His dog, Russell, was his shadow for many years. Mark will be remembered by his family for his smile, his laugh, and his tender heart.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Martha Bond, and his brother, Joe Bond.

Mark is survived by his sister, Amy Bond, of Saint Johns, Florida; sister-in-law, Christine Bond of Alpena, Michigan; cousins Steve Cooper of Du Quoin, Illinois and Susan Baker of Dallas, Texas; and his dearest friend, Chelsea Mentink of Middleton, Wisconsin.

An interment will be held in Spring 2026 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Murphysboro, Illinois.
