Mark Brunelle Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Donald Brunelle, affectionately and playfully known as "Mad Dog Brunelle," who departed this world on July 25, 2025. Mark was born on July 2, 1975, in Columbus, Ohio, and lived a full life of 50 years filled with laughter, love, and fervent passions.
Mark leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness, having touched the lives of many. A dedicated and firm believer in Jesus Christ, he carried his faith with grace and shared it with those around him. An avid fan of Star Wars and the Dragonlance Saga, Mark reveled in the immersive worlds of imagination. He found joy in playing video games and was a steadfast supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes. His enthusiasm was infectious, and his laughter was a gift to all who knew him.
He is lovingly remembered by his parents, Sandra Hudson Hanawalt and her husband Larry of Asheboro, and Paul John Brunelle of Mechanicsburg, OH; his sister, Amy Gavlik and her husband David of Delaware, OH; and his cherished nieces, Emma, Hannah, and Ella, along with many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Mark was preceded in death by his brother, Robin, whom he now joins.
Mark's journey was one marked by courage and resilience in the face of adversity, never allowing his battle with Multiple Sclerosis to dim his spirit. He took his final breath at home, surrounded by the love and care of those dearest to him.
The family will hold a celebration of Mark's life at a later date, giving loved ones the opportunity to honor his memory and the joy he brought into their lives. Special thanks are extended to Hospice of Randolph County, CNA Teisha Powers, RN Lannette White, and the army of doctors who became like family to Mark, providing compassionate care throughout his illness.
Though Mark has left this earthly realm, his spirit remains etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He was loved all his days, and his memory will continue to be a beacon of light and inspiration.
May he rest in peace and be forever embraced by the love he so generously gave. Midstate Cremation & Funeral Service in Asheboro is honored to assist the family of Mark Donald Brunelle.
