Mr. Mark Carter, 68, of Peoria, IL, passed away peacefully at 1:49 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

Mark was born on May 7, 1957, in Chicago, IL, to Frank and Alberta (Carr) Carter. He was married to LeFlora Williams for over 30 years until her passing. To their union, two sons were born; Tony and Cory. Mark also lovingly embraced his oldest son, Steve Henry and daughter, Lenora Williams.

A 1975 graduate of Wendell Phillips High School in Chicago, Mark gained his first work experience at his uncle's Happy Carwash. He later worked as a security guard for Pinkerton Security in Chicago. Mark also spent many years employed at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange until health issues forced his early retirement.

Mark accepted Christ at an early age and was a long-time member of New Rose of Sharon Baptist Church in Chicago, IL. He faithfully served on the Deacon Board and was an active member of the male choir.

Mark was known for staying connected with family; keeping up with relatives on both sides and cherishing those relationships dearly.

Mark leaves to cherish his precious memory, three sons, Steve Henry, Antonio Williams, and Cory Williams; one daughter, Lenora Williams; one brother, Brad Carter; four sisters, Belinda Carter, Cherry Carter, Doris Carter and Tonya (Dave) Carter, all of Chicago, IL; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, LeFlora and six brothers; Clint Carter, Louis Carter, Leonard Carter, Dwight Carter, Antonio Carter, and Aaron Carter.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
