Mark Elio D'Appolonia, (Dap) age 67 of Penn Hills, died August 12th, 2024, after a long illness, with loving family by his side. Born October 16, 1956, in Pittsburgh, the youngest child of Elio and Tina D'Appolonia. From an early age, Mark displayed aptitude for solving mechanical problems with an extraordinary ability to build. He spent years working for the family business, D'Appolonia Consulting Engineers and ECI managing equipment and collaborating with his father and brother on geological challenges and projects. As a master mechanic, he worked on important infrastructures nationwide. Mark's greatest passion was caring for others, especially his family, friends, and pets. He was tireless in his love for his parents and his wife, Debbie (Fisher) who preceded him in death. Mark had a love for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers. Mark is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Kenneth and Kathy D'Appolonia, Michael and Betsy D'Appolonia, and Linda and Tim Knecht; 11 nieces and nephews; and 28 grandnieces and grandnephews.
