Sad to see that Mark passed. He was a fun and easy guy to talk with, always working on his house, a great neighbor and basically just a good guy. He is and will be missed.

Growing up in the kid circus that encompassed Brierwood Lane, Ivy Lane, Dodds Court and down to Crescent Beach, Mark was perhaps unfortunate to see me often when in the early grades into High School when we were marched in by alphabetical order. Although sitting nearby his academic skills were Light Years above mine! I remember his younger brother Craig and I (in the early formulative years) in a minor tussle over a long stick that looked like a musket rifle and older brother Mark did not hestitate to rally to help his younger brother.

I am very glad I went to Mark's service at St. Marks and no surprise in hearing Craig's well crafted tribute to his older brother and hearing of all the kindness and caring and Mark remaining close to family and his God that was Mark in all that matters the most.

Even not knowing you well you had a positive impact that I can't explain.

May God welcome you home in all His Light and Being.

Mark may have sat next to me often alphabetically during many a school year, but he was light years ahead of me academically!

Mark was one a great select neighborhood troop that played brutal football in street football games, where hitting and knocked in to a snow bank you were considered lucky. Odd memory but there was a tussle once when I think I found a long branch that looked like a musket rifle and both Craig and I claimed it. Mark turned in to a pit bull defending his younger brother!

The DeVarney's, The Campitelli's and Tim and Jim Riley, all the best in bumps and bruises during those formative years. If there will be a Hall of Fame on Brierwood Lane, Mark would be the first nominee to combine athletic ability and academic excellence! Bowling? You were watching a Pro!? (well, sometimes!)
I had only seen Mark once in the last few decades but he reminds an important part of those younger years.
My deepest sympathy.
May God be with you Mark.
