Mark Dusek Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations - La Grange on Jan. 24, 2025.
Mark Anthony Dusek, or as most know him as, Snake, went to be with the Lord on January 22, 2025, at the age of 67.
He was born and raised in East Bernard, TX, a resident of Lake Jackson, TX where he was a dedicated employee of HL&P/Center Point Energy for 40+ years, and recently moved to Smithville, TX to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
He was a loving, loyal husband, a kind and patient dad, a silly and supportive papa, and a devoted friend to many. He had an extremely strong faith in God and he led a life which was representative of his strong Christian values.
Mark was a committed member of St. Michael's Church as well as the Knights of Columbus for 47 years and very active in Lake Jackson council where he was cherished by his brother knights and served the Lord through his frequent charitable contributions.
In his spare time, he enjoyed playing Tarocks and dominos, watching the Astros and the Longhorns, hanging out with his huge family, hunting at his deer lease on the Llano river, and joking and playing games with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Dusek, his oldest daughter, Tara Cupples and her husband Justin Cupples, their children Lynnden, Emma, Bowen, Madden, Avery and Crew, and his youngest daughter, Laura Alvarado and her husband Robert Alvarado, along with their son Lawrence and their new baby on the way.
Mark never met a stranger and he touched so many lives. He will forever be deeply missed by all.
Final arrangements for Mark are as follows: a visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 100 Oak Drive South, Lake Jackson, TX 77566, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with family present at this time to receive friends. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. A private graveside service will follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church of Lake Jackson.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, La Grange, Texas. Family and friends can view and sign the guestbook online at www.lagrangefunerals.com.

Mark always had a smile on his face. At the Gouldie events he was always smiling and helpful! He called me-Bobby´s wife-that girl from Garwood! I miss seeing him but know that he is at peace now. GOD be with him and his family. Our prayers are with you.

I had the privilege of going on a vacation with Mark and Tricia,
Just this past fall. Mark was the kindest, most considerate person I have met in a long while, he included every one, even if meant he sat on the sidelines.
My sincere sympathy to Tricia and the family.
Most Sincerely,
Patsy Sabrsula

I first met Snake and his brothers when they took their mother to a tarok tournament. I started talking to Snake and he told me he was from East Bernard. I started laughing and told him I was from Louise and had played sports with many from his hometown. We talked about people that we knew, how Snake got his name, and many other things. It was easy to become fast friends with him. He was kind, engaging, and fun to be with. Everybody loved Snake. Everybody wanted to be around Snake. My brother Steve invited him to his house in Ganado to play cards. Snake invited us to the farm to play cards. At sunset, we watched a dog scare the cattle and a donkey try to kick the dog. It was a sight. We always talked when we went to tournaments. He had a great analytical mind and was a great tarok player. Snake loved his wife, daughters, family, and friends. He was a wonderful man of honor who was kind, engaging, and was a good man that was proved by his many good deeds. Those good deeds will follow him to heaven. To his wife, daughters, and family: I am so sorry. We are sad because Snake made this world is a better place. But, heaven and we all are rejoicing over his arrival in heaven. Eternal rest grant unto him, Oh Lord; and let the perpetual light of Jesus shine upon him.
Sincerely, Mark Brezina, Fort Worth, Texas
