Mark Dye Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomas Funeral Home - Centerville on Feb. 15, 2025.
Mark David Dye was born on February 17, 1957. He went home to be with Jesus on February 13, 2025. Mark accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at age 15 and always loved telling people about Jesus and making sure they knew for sure that they were on their way to heaven. He loved telling them how Jesus died on the cross for their sins, was buried and rose again the third day. He would explain that they needed to repent of their sins and ask Jesus to come into their heart.
Mark was blessed with four children, Tamara Lynn, Kimberly Renee, Jennifer Dawn and David Michael. When Mark married Carla on September 1, 2007, he gained two bonus daughters in Linsey and Lauren. Mark was a loving husband, dad and papa. He dearly loved his family and was proud of each one of them.
Mark was a builder, pastor, mechanic and pilot to name a few of his talents. He loved to fly jets and if anyone was ever one of his passengers, they could be assured that their comfort and safety was top priority to him.
Mark is survived by wife, Carla; daughters, Tamara (David) Moody, Kimberly (Stephen) Hooper, Jennifer (Timothy) Hooper, and Lauren (Nicklos) McCann; son-in-law, Cory (Kahla) Anderson; grandchildren, Michelle Hooper (fiancé, Jackson Sohar) Emma Hooper, Nicole, Jeremy, Ethan and Kaylee Hooper, Gracelyn Moody, Miles and Hadley Anderson, and Linley McCann; brother, Allen (Donna) Dye, Jr; as well as other family and numerous friends.
Mark was preceded in death by infant son, David Michael Dye; brother, Wayne Daniel Dye; dad, Allen Dye, Sr.; daughter Linsey Anderson; and in-laws Curtis and Donna Sebolt.
Funeral Services for Mark will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, February 24, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Burial will follow the service at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will take place Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville beginning at 1:00PM, with the family greeting friends from 3:00PM-5:00PM. Though only meeting Mark a few times, his kindness and warmth were immediately evident. He had a way of making those around him feel welcome, and his presence was truly enjoyable. He will be deeply missed."
