Mark was born on May 17, 1957, in Oxnard, CA, to Payne and Ruby (Tucker) Fitzgerald. The family moved to Springfield, MO, where he met the love of his life, Michelle Hawkins. The two were married on April 23, 1977, and together they raised three children, Justin, Natalie, and Lindsay.
Mark had a 30 year career with Clayton Homes and took great pride in his work. He was a mentor and friend to many.
Mark enjoyed golfing, going to the lake, and spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, dad, and papa. We will miss his quick wit, great sense of humor, and infectious smile.
Mark is survived by his mother, Ruby Fitzgerald; his wife of 45 years, Michelle Fitzgerald; his children, Justin Fitzgerald, Natalie Holt and her husband Devin, and Lindsay Fitzgerald; his grandchildren, Jackson Fitzgerald, Hayden Holt, Everly Holt, and Sage Hurtado; his siblings, Bill Fitzgerald and his wife Joanne, Rob Fitzgerald and his wife Kim, and Janet Fitzgerald; his mother-in-law, Joyce Hawkins; his brother-in-laws, Chris Hawkins and his wife Reneé, and Kevin Hawkins and his wife Karol; and his many nieces and nephews.
Mark's Celebration of Life will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home East on Tuesday, July 12, at 1 p.m. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home and donations can be made to the Kidney Cancer Association.
The Celebration for Mark will be livestreamed on Zoom. Out of respect for the family please turn off the audio and video on your devices. Thank you.
