Mark Anthony Flood of Iron Mountain, MI, passed away on November 19, 2025, at the age of 71.
Mark was a native of
Crystal Falls, MI, where he was born on October 16, 1954, to Robert and Jeana Flood, the youngest of five children.
He was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain and was president of the church council for many years.
Mark led a very active life and was passionate about many things. As an athlete at Forest Park High School, Mark was a standout football player and track and field competitor, excelling in both sports. After graduation, Mark continued his education and sports at Hillsdale College. While at Hillsdale, Mark continued to be a two-sport standout, setting several track and field school records. In 1978, as a senior, he received the Kimball Award for being inducted into the Hillsdale Athletic Hall of Fame.
With his business degree complete, Mark moved back to the UP and joined the family business, Flood Industries, with locations in Crystal Falls, Ishpeming and Iron Mountain. The family business was started by Mark's Dad in 1950, and Mark worked alongside his dad and siblings at various times and locations until 1995 when the family business was sold to Mainline Industries.
While working and living in Iron Mountain, Mark met and married Mary Beth (Paquette) Cvengros in 1994.
With the Flood family business sold, Mark and Mary started their own business, OEM Equipment Parts Interchange Service, Inc. in Iron Mountain, MI. With his background in Industrial Distribution, Mark, together with Mary, ran the business out of their home.
Mark was very active in Iron and Dickinson counties throughout his adult life. He gave generously of his time and talent to both Kingsford and Forest Park track programs as a teaching volunteer. His passion for youth was apparent as he was a regular supporter of all Kingsford athletic programs. To stay involved in the world of football, Mark was an avid Packer fan and attended many games with family and friends.
With his good humor and love of having fun, he spent time with his kids, grandkids, and nieces and nephews, fishing, hunting, boating, tubing, parasailing, turtle hunting, sledding and skiing, both water and snow.
In 2020 Mark purchased a fixer upper camp for his children, providing a happy healthy place where they could be together and enjoy the outdoors with friends and family.
Mark is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughter, Angel Flood (Dayne Nelson); his stepsons, Jonathan (Amy) Cvengros and their children Jack and Nora Cvengros, Robert Cvengros and his fiancée Jenna Johnson, and Thomas (Kaitlin) Cvengros and their son Otis; three siblings, Jim (Jean) Flood, Susan Flood-Dziubinski (Gene Dziubinski) and Bob (Teresa) Flood; and many nieces and nephews.
