Mark Grubaugh Obituary
Mark slipped away peacefully to meet Jesus shortly after midnight on August 4, 2024. Born on April 20, 1965, the seventh child of Alice (Sally) and William (Bill). Mark was preceded in death by both parents, father in 1992 and mother in 2019; and siblings: Debbie and Pat, both in 2017; along with both sets of grandparents, aunts, uncles; his niece, Amber; and a number of cousins who surely welcomed him home. Mark is survived by brothers: Bill (Carol) Grubaugh, Mike (Rita) Grubaugh; and sisters: Joleine (Randy) Adams and Cathy Grimsley (Ed).
Mark may have been the last born but he was always first in our hearts. Limited in this life by Cerebral Palsy, Mark was a beautiful soul with an infectious smile known for his "happy dance" and voracious appetite. Mark's life was not without its challenges, especially after a bowel blockage last November. Unfortunately, this event led to several surgeries, procedures, hospital stays and eventually a nursing where he eventually succumbed to his declining condition. Mark led a good life for someone who doctors thought would not reach age seven. Mark will never be forgotten. How wonderful to have the assurance of seeing him again healed of all ailments. Until we see you again dear brother.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ivy Chapel at Greenlawn Cemetery, 2580 Romig Rd, Akron, OH 44320.
