Mark Lynn Haislip, 65, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2024, after a long struggle with a brain injury due to a severe heart attack in 2019.

Mark was born September 5, 1958, in Lewisburg, TN to the late Herbert and Rheta Sharp Haislip.

He was also preceded in death by his loving brother, Mike Haislip, his grandfather, Jesse Sharp, his uncle, Larry Sharp and his former wife, Jo Ann Haislip.

Mark was a very intelligent, kind man who enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He had enjoyed a variety of construction jobs and was also trained in electrical work.

He is survived by his step-children, Stacie Riner (Billy Joe) and Mike Gray (Tara) and their children, Hannah and Gage. He is also survived by his aunt, Jeanette Sharp, his cousins, Sandy Sharp, Susan Douglas, and Yvonne Haislip, and longtime friend, Dawn Welch. We are sure he had several other lifelong friends as well who will miss him greatly. He had loving caregivers, Chasity, Chris, and Brooklyn Ervin and Brandi Crain who attended to his needs, drove him to appointments, took him on many outings including the zoo, pumpkin patches, local parks, and many visits to his favorite restaurants.

Mark will be remembered for his compassion toward others, his love of animals, his appreciation for flowers, and the occasional hilarious comments during conversations. While his cognitive abilities had severely declined, he never lost his sense of humor nor his ability to spell most anything.

To honor Mark, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to Lucky’s Cat House, 1191 East Commerce Street, Lewisburg, Tennessee 37091 or to Westvue Church of Christ, 1710 Mooresville Highway, Lewisburg, Tennessee 37091.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later time in the future.
