Mark Lyn Hargis

Mark Lyn Hargis, 63, of Roxboro, died on Friday, January 2, 2026. Born in Person County, he was the son of the late George Edward Hargis and Lillian Parrott Hargis Hubbard. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his five siblings: Stanley Hargis, Terry Hargis, Nathan Hargis, Lila Hargis Martin and Richard Hargis. He is also preceded in death by his furbaby, who provided a longtime friendship of 16 years, Fred. Mr. Hargis was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his daughter, Jennifer Hargis of South Glen Falls, NY; one sister, Lona Hargis Lockhart and husband, Ricky of Roxboro; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Hargis and Angela Hargis; one brother-in-law, Robert Martin; one grandchild, Isabella "Bella" Lashway; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews: "The Littles"--- Georgia, Declan, Hartlie and Alyssa.
Funeral service will be held 2 PM Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the Brooks & White Chapel with the Rev. Jonathan Taylor and the Rev. Scott Williams officiating. Burial will be held in the Brooks, Wesbrooks and Dickerson Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (1-2 PM) and other times at his home, 1313 Griles Street, Roxboro.
