Mark Joseph Heacox, 66, of Latrobe, passed away Monday, October 6, 2025, at his home.
Born November 25, 1958, in Latrobe, he was the son of the late Robert W. Heacox and Lea (Fox) Heacox.
Mark was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to his retirement, Mark built a distinguished career as a mechanical engineer in the automotive industry. During that time, his work led him to live in many places throughout the United States, Mexico, and Brazil. A lifelong Pittsburgh Steeler fan, he loved attending training camp at Saint Vincent College, never missing an opportunity to scout new players and provide his critiques of schemes and play calling. Mark was a deep thinker and a storyteller, who loved entertaining those closest to him with his quick wit. Family was very important to Mark, and he cherished the time he was able to spend with them.
Mark is survived by his four children, Paul Heacox (Dani) of Lyndhurst, OH, Jacob Heacox (Rebecca) of Gates Mills, OH, Andrew Heacox of San Francisco, CA, and Sarah Dieter (Josh) of Aurora, OH; five grandchildren, Leah, Eleanor, Lily, Lennox, and Lincoln; his brothers and sisters, Stephen Heacox (Connie) of Marion, MA, Ann Battaglia (Mario) of Latrobe, Elaine Christianson (Alan) of Latrobe, Robert Heacox (Michele) of Lutherville, MD, and George Heacox (Jean) of Rockville, MD. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
At his request, there will be no public visitations or services. Private interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Latrobe. Arrangements are being handled by the Lopatich-Brinker Funeral Home, LLC, 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe.
