Mark Higley Obituary

Mark Lee Higley, 68, passed away on April 19, 2025, at Mountain West Medical Hospital due to respiratory failure. He was born in Grantsville, Utah, to Wallace and Lorna Higley and raised on the family homestead, where he learned the value of hard work, self-reliance, and ingenuity.
Mark graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City and later served a mission in New Zealand for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He spoke often of his time there and the people he came to love.
Mark had a natural talent for fixing things and was happiest with a wrench in hand. He enjoyed cars and spent many hours working on them-often with one of his kids nearby handing him tools. He worked in trucking, crane excavation, and dredging, and explored a range of entrepreneurial ventures throughout his life, including mobile home renovation and management. Always planning ahead, he was in the process of building an off-the-grid home, a project that reflected his love of independence and preparation.
Though not much of a hunter or fisherman, Mark enjoyed camping trips with his children and being out in nature. He was known for his quiet generosity-always willing to lend a hand, whether to a neighbor or a stranger on the side of the road.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers David and Dale; and granddaughter Katrina Boggs. He is survived by his siblings Carol Lawson, Lynn Higley and Annette Cerceres; his children Kristy, Daniel, Heather, Scott, Michelle, and Skyler; and his 27 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 26, at 12:00 p.m. at the Clark 2nd Ward, 81 N Church St, Grantsville, Utah. All are welcome to come and remember Mark's life and legacy.
