Mark John Hillegas; 74 of Appleton WI passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 26, 2024. He was born on February 5th 1950 in Green Bay to James and Ruth Hillegas.
On June 15, 1974, he married Chris Braun in Appleton, WI.
Mark graduated from UW Steven's Point in 1972 and worked in finance until his retirement in 2015. Mark and Chris resided in Hilbert, WI and raised their children until 2015 when they moved to Appleton, WI. Mark enjoyed time at their cottage and fishing with family and friends.
Mark is survived by his wife of 49 years Chris Hillegas, son Ryan Hillegas, daughter Tara Blohowiak, sister Kim Luniak (Gene), sister Ellen Carpenter, brother Bruce Hillegas (Nancy), brother Kevin Hillegas (Chris), brother in law John Gibbons, sister in law Sandi, granddaughters Kendyl and Harper Blohowiak and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Beth Gibbons and Lynn (Dave) Drawenek; a brother James Hillegas; and brother-in-law Gary Carpenter.
A lunch in Mark's honor will be held on March 16th from 12:00 to 2:00pm at the Capitol Centre on 725 W Capitol Drive in Appleton.
