It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald "Donnie" Lee Hillegas, 51, who left us on Saturday, June 21, 2025, just shy of his 52nd birthday. Born on June 30, 1973, in Boston, MA, Don lived a life full of passion and dedication, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Don was a devoted greenskeeper at Oakbrook Golf Course, where he spent his days ensuring the beauty and playability of the course. His love for the outdoors and meticulous attention to detail made him a cherished member of the Oakbrook family. In addition to his professional life, Don proudly served in the United States Air Force as an Apprentice, Moral, Warfare, Recreation, and Service Specialist. His service to his country was a testament to his character and commitment to the greater good. Don had a zest for life and a love for riding motorcycles, which brought him joy and a sense of freedom. His adventurous spirit and warm smile will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the love he shared with those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

He is survived by his parents, Robert Hillegas and Linda Price; his wife, Michelle Speigle Hillegas; his step-son, Luke Speigle, his loving brother, Dan Hillegas; his nephew, Rylie Hillegas (Debra); and his great niece and nephew Avery and Hunter Hillegas. He is also survived by his cherished grandmother, Deloris Hillegas.

Don was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harold Hillegas, whose memory he held dear.

In accordance with his wishes, a direct cremation will take place. The family is grateful for the support and condolences from friends and loved ones during this difficult time.
