Virgil L. Maze, born in 1928, turning 97 on August 6 th passed onto his Eternal Life at his home in Belpre on July 23 rd, supported with love and care from family, friends and Amedysis Hospice. Virgil's beloved wife, Alice, preceded him in death by only one month earlier. To his delight he was recently visited by numerous family members and friends.

Raised in the Belpre/Vincent area, working on garden farms, he learned the responsibility of providing for his family. Virgil had experience in public service, mechanical work, timbering business, saw mills, operating heavy equipment, bulldozing ponds and excavating the surroundings areas.

Always interested in various histories, he was a captivating story teller with a great sense of humor. In retirement he enjoyed his model T and model A cars, taking others for the adventure. He rode his Gold Wing motorcycle until he was 92 years old.

Virgil was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Now he has found peace and joy in his faith, having served church for so many years, he has entered into New Life with our Lord. We are grateful that this man has been in our lives.

According to his wishes, a private family service will be held with burial in Tunnel Cemetery. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family.
