Mark Irving Hulteen, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 12, 2024, in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Mark was born in New Haven, Connecticut on July 23, 1968, and grew up in Cheshire, Connecticut.

Mark is survived by his wife Michele L’Heureux from Southington, CT now residing in North Myrtle Beach, SC.

Mark is also survived by his mother, Barbara Hulteen and her companion Richard Hartman, brother, Erik Hulteen and his wife Lisa, his niece, Brooke Hulteen and her fiancée Tanner Chase, nephew John Hulteen, his uncle Irving Hulteen and Aunt Sandra Rocco and cousin, Michelle Tarr. Mark was predeceased by his father, William Hulteen, his grandparents, Louis and Adrianne Rocco, Irving and Mildred Hulteen, and his beloved dogs Spike, Tubbs and Jack.

In addition to Mark’s immediate family, he is also survived by his wife’s Michele parents Robert and Pamela L’Heureux and brother Robert Junior and predeceased sister-in-law Linda L’Heureux.

Mark grew up in Cheshire playing youth hockey, high school and the Gunnery. He completed his hockey career as a Captain of the Iona College Hockey Team and still holds the record for most penalty minutes. He was a two-time ALL ECAC Defenseman and two-time Scholastic ALL ECAC Team at Iona. One of Mark’s famous lines was – “I did it the hard way 2 minutes at a time”. After Mark’s hockey career ended, he was asked by friends if he wanted to play senior hockey he said, “he would never play hockey again and threw his hockey gear in the dumpster”!!

Mark loved spending his summer vacation in Westbrook with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and water skiing and Emily’s Bakery!!

In 1991, Mark moved to Tampa, Florida to start his career and follow in his father’s footsteps as a Software Developer/Programmer. Mark and Michele were married in 2009, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but were together since they were teenagers. They had many adventures and traveled/moved around often, their favorite places were Fort Lauderdale, FL Las Vegas, NV, Islamorada, FL. and St. Augustine FL.

Visitation will be held on January 17, 2025, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street (Rte. 10) in Cheshire, Connecticut, 06410 with words of remembrance at 6pm.

Please join us in A Celebration of Life Gathering, directly after the services at Il’ Gusto Restaurant, 268 Maple Avenue, in Cheshire, Connecticut, from 6:30 to 9:30.
