Dolores "Dee" Estelle Hulteen passed away peacefully on April 26th, 2024. Born on October 29th, 1931, to Amelia and Edmund O'Connor. Dee spent her early childhood in Sault Ste. Marie before moving to the Greater Lansing area and settling in Dimondale where she enjoyed close relationships with her neighbors. She valued her care and friendships at Independence Village of Grand Ledge where she resided for the remainder of her time with us.
A graduate of Eastern High School, she spent 20 years working at the United States Postal Services. She enjoyed her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens and valued her time with her grandkids. She spent many hours in the kitchen making her famous peanut brittle and fudge throughout the Christmas holiday season to share with family and friends. Dee was also known for her resilient nature and weathered life's storms with unwavering strength and determination. Her legacy lives on through her devoted family, whom she cherished above all else. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Dee joins her husband, Herbert Hulteen, of 62 years with the Lord. She is survived by her 4 children: Jim (Susie) Hulteen, Bruce (Marlene) Hulteen, Terry (JeanAnn) Hulteen, Tami (Jim) Koehler; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and her brother Ronald O'Connor (Jan) and sister-in-law Darlene O'Connor.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held, Friday, May 3, 2024, 1:00 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Holt Chapel with Rev. Fr. John Byers officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Holt. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Greater Lansing Food Bank or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Research in memory of Dolores.
