Alton Curtis "Al" Simpson

Alton Curtis Simpson, known affectionately as Al by his friends and family, passed away peacefully in Holt, MI, in the early morning of November 4, 2025, due to heart failure. Al was born on November 1, 1947, in Flint, Michigan to parents Herbert and Hilda (Taber) Simpson.
For those who knew Al, they were invariably touched by his humor. His ability to draw a smile or a hearty laugh from anyone was unmatched. Al was also the epitome of kindness. Friends, family, and even strangers felt the warmth of his caring nature. His thoughtfulness extended beyond kind words, often manifesting in his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever needed.
Al's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and work. For 31 years, he dedicated his talents to AC Delco, where he was a proud and fierce member of UAW Local 591. His work ethic and camaraderie were an inspiration to his colleagues. After departing AC Delco, Al took to the open road as an over-the-road truck driver for 15+ years, where his sense of adventure and independence shone brightly.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter in his surviving siblings, Dwight Simpson, Goldeen Wiltfong, Sandra Wheeler, and James Simpson. His memory will be cherished and kept alive through his five children, Troy Simpson, Teresa Bevins, Toni (Scott) Setser, Traci (Jay) Warren, and Herb (Karry) Simpson, as well as his adored 16 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Hilda, his brother Herb, and his beloved wives, Lauren (Timm) and Betty Ann (Jordan) Simpson.
Al lived a rich and full life, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. As we say goodbye, we celebrate the life of a man who was truly one of a kind. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire and guide us. Though he may be gone from our sight, his memory will forever be etched in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Al, until we meet again.
A visitation will be held for Alton Simpson on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Palmer Bush & Jensen Holt Chapel at 5035 Holt Rd. Holt, MI 48842. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. following the visitation.
