Jose Vanegas Obituary

A patriot at heart, Jose was a United States Army Veteran and served in the National Guard for several years. His time in the military was not just a duty but a significant part of who he was. He valued service, discipline, and the camaraderie found among his fellow soldiers. The lessons learned and the experiences gained during his service remained with him throughout his life, influencing his actions and his character.
Later in life Jose would meet Wanda Arnett. The two went on to get married on November 13, 1999. Family continued to be important to Jose for the rest of his life.
Jose is survived by his daughter Ann (Kevin) Casper and son Juan (Heath) Vanegas. He is also survived by his granddaughter Grace Casper, nephew and close friend David Arnett Sr., and 2 brothers.
Jose is predeceased by his wife Wanda (Arnett) Vanegas, stepdaughter Tammy Cole, parents, and sister.
A Graveside Service for Jose Luis Vanegas Jr. will be held on Friday November 14th at 1:00pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery; 4400 Belford Rd. Holly, MI, 48442.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Senior CommUnity Care of Michigan PACE at 1921 E Miller Rd, Lansing, MI 48911 or on their website at Home Page - Volunteers of America
