Kenneth Darling

Kenneth A. Darling, age 95, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home. Ken was born on March 15, 1930, in Ingham County to the late Clarence and Mabel Darling, Ken lived a full and meaningful life rooted in hard work and cherished relationships. He was a proud graduate of Mason High School, Class of 1948. He married the love of his life, Joyce A. Darling (Fulton), on February 3, 1951. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and, upon returning home, began a long career at GM Oldsmobile in Lansing, working in the experimental garage until his retirement in 1985. Ken and Joyce spent many joyful years at Houghton Lake, where he found great pleasure in lake life, lawn care, golfing, hunting, ice fishing, and snow skiing in his younger years. Later, they made their home in St. Johns, Michigan.
He is survived by his children, Kerry Darling (Carolyn) of Potterville, Brian Darling (Kim) of Dewitt, and Lori Darling of Raleigh, NC; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joyce, son Kevin Darling, brothers Floyd and Lyle Darling, and sisters Blanche Pettit and Rose Lamphere.
In accordance with Ken's wishes, there will be no public viewing or funeral service. He will be laid to rest beside his wife Joyce in Eaton Rapids.
