Steven Baylis Penski

Steven (Steve) B. Penski of Lake Odessa, age 85, passed away on November 10, 2025. Steve was born on September 16, 1940, in Lansing to Stephen and Helen (Baylis) Penski.
Steve attended Eastern High School in Lansing, where he graduated in 1958. After high school, Steve proudly served his country in the Marine Corps from 1961 to 1964. During this time of his life, Steve met and married his first wife Judy Penski.
After his military service, Steve embarked on a distinguished 37-year career as a supervisor at Lansing Heat Treat, where he was respected for his leadership and admired for his dedication to his work. During his time as a supervisor, Steve attended classes at Lansing Community College to further his knowledge and skills.
Steve and Sharon were next door neighbors for years. After the passing of his first wife Judy, Sharon provided comfort to Steve. The two grew closer over the years and got married on August 26, 2000. Steve and Sharon went on to share 25 years of marriage together.
Beyond his family and work, Steve appreciated life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed reading good books, traveling, and fishing. Steve often went golfing with his friends where he once made a hole in one. He also loved to watch both football and basketball.
Many described Steve as a person who always did the right thing. He was a man of integrity and compassion. Steve is remembered as a devoted husband and father. A man who loved his family and made it known.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Penski, and a loving family that includes his children, Steven (Maggie) Penski, David (Cindi) Penski, Erik (Liz) Penski; step-children, Gary (Michelle) Morris Jr., Bobbie Jo (James) Reinhardt; and his cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Tanner, Bailee, Alex, Allison, Lincoln, Vinny, Max, and Lily. His family and extended family of many nieces and nephews also held a special place in his heart.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Stephan Penski and Helen (Baylis) Penski, his brother Stanley Penski, and his first wife Judy Penski.
A Visitation will be held for Steven B. Penski on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Palmer Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes – Delta Chapel located at 6301 W. St. Joe Hwy, Lansing, Michigan 48917. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 1:00 pm. Family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 pm.
