Mark Elias Kamar

Mark Elias Kamar, 67, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away on December 30th, 2023. Born on June 28th,1956, in Detroit, Michigan, Mark was the beloved son of Nick and Mary (Rashid) Kamar. In 1965, his family relocated to Lansing, Michigan, where Mark supported his parents in managing Westlawn Lanes Bowling Alley and became an avid bowler.
Mark attended high school at Lansing Catholic Central where he was an All State outfielder. He went on to earn a BA in Social Science from Michigan State University in 1978 and his Juris Doctor degree in January of 1983 from Cooley Law School. Mark's dedication culminated in admission to the State Bar of Michigan in May of 1983. He then opened his law practice and worked for 39 years in Ingham, Eaton, and Clinton counties. As a criminal defense and family law expert, Mark touched many lives in the Mid-Michigan community.
Beyond his legal work, Mark found his deepest joy in cherished moments shared with his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many close friends. His passion for sports and military history echoed his diverse range of interests.
Mark was preceded in death by his adoring parents, Nick and Mary Kamar, and his sister Nikki (Nick) Joseph. He leaves behind his son, Nick (Danielle) Kamar; daughter, Katie Kamar; former wife, Deb Kamar; granddaughters, Eleanor, Lillian, and Sophia Kamar, and Penelope Ranke; sister, Victoria (Dan) Olivett; and many nieces and nephews.
Mark will be missed by many and rest in God's presence for all eternity.
Visitation is at Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel, 6301 W. St. Joe Hwy., on Friday, January 19th, from 2 to 8 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Cathedral at 10 am on Saturday, January 20th.
