Mark Anthony Kass

Mark Anthony Kass passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2025, while working/traveling through the state of Texas, his second home. Born on December 15, 1966, in Marrero, Louisiana, Mark recently celebrated his 59th birthday with his family.

He is survived by his son Paris, his daughters London and Milan Kass, his grandchildren Julian and Jerran Davis, and Sofia and Emma Ramirez. He is also survived by his father, Calvin Kass, and sisters, Mary Jo Clement (Rusty) and Jean Kass, his nieces, many cousins, and good friends that he considered family. Mark was preceded in death by his son, Rome, and his loving mother, Mamie Kass.

Mark was self-employed in the trucking industry and worked many years in the oilfields of Texas. He had a deep passion for the work and a strong respect for the grit, determination, and hard work of the people in the industry. Along the way, he formed many close friendships with people he considered family. He was also a part-owner of his family’s construction business, Kass Bros., Inc.

Mark had a warm heart, generous spirit, and strong faith in Christ. He will be remembered for his larger than life personality, his sense of humor, and his ability to connect with people that cannot be explained. He was often the life of the party and never met a stranger. Mark had the gift of gab from an early age, and he never tired of having conversations about any topic. He would often call family members and friends multiple times a day just to say hello. His daily phone calls will be missed by many.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, beginning at 10:00 am until 1:30 pm at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in the funeral home chapel at 1:30 pm. Interment at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna, immediately following Mass.
