Barton Funeral Home - AdairsvilleMark Leland Lindberg, age 83, of Adairsville passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026.He was born in Saint Peter, Minnesota, on December 8, 1942, to the late Mildred Olson Lindberg and Lyle Vernon Lindberg, Sr.
Mark’s life was marked by dedication, curiosity, and a deep love for family. He grew up in Minnesota, where he learned the value of responsibility and hard work while helping care for his grandparents, before later making Georgia his home.
Mark graduated from Georgia Southern University with a teaching degree and was a proud member of the Kappa Phi Kappa fraternity. He began his educational career as an elementary school teacher in Smyrna, Georgia, where he established a program for at risk youth with the National Forest Service, making a difference environmentally as well as touching the lives of many young students.
Later he transitioned into a successful professional career, working in Houston, TX, for Fiat, and later served as a purchasing agent for Kobelco USA, and Sakai America Manufacturing in Northwest GA.
A member of the American Motorcycle Association, he found great joy in riding motorcycles, classic country music, traveling to the mountains, and spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. Most of all he enjoyed the good company of his close family and friends over a meal or conversing over a good stiff drink.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Julia Bray Lindberg; and his brothers, Kent Allen Lindberg (Carolyn), Brian Joseph Lindberg (Anna), and Lyle Vernon Lindberg, Jr (Lynn).
He is survived by his son, William Russell Long and wife Brandy Long of Adairsville, son Larry Lindberg of Atlanta; grandchildren, Aiden and Allorah Long, Braelynn Lindberg Vitolano (Nick), Emily Lindberg, and Ava Kate Lindberg; brother-in-law, Ronnie Bray (Yvonne); sisters-in-law, Carolyn Lindberg, Anna Lindberg, Lynn Lindberg, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held on April 11, 2026, from 2:00PM until 4:00PM at the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
