Mr. Michael Wayne Pressley, known to everyone as Mike, age 70, of Leesburg, Alabama, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026, at his residence.
Mike was born September 16, 1955, and grew up in Kingston Georgia, son of the late Eva Mae Strickland Pressley and Emmett Lewis Pressley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Pressley Pratt and brother-in-law, Roy T. Silvers.
Survivors include his loving companion, Patricia Cochran; sister Mary Silvers; brother, Jimmy and Judy Pressley; his beloved cat, Dawg; nieces and nephews Brandy Silvers (Roland), Payton Silvers (Dawn), Jonathan Pressley (Lauren), Jacob Pressley (Perrilynne) and Sherry Pratt Childers and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and dear friends.
Mike will be remembered as a fun-loving man who never met a stranger and always knew how to make people laugh. A die-hard fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Pittsburgh Steelers, he loved cheering on his teams and talking football with anyone who would listen. Mike spent 30 dedicated years working for Bekaert Steel, a place where he formed many lasting friendships. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—fishing, living at the lake, watching beautiful sunsets, and taking trips to his favorite places, Panama City Beach and the Smokey Mountains. Mike also loved selling at flea markets and yard sales and especially enjoyed the fun of haggling and making a good deal. Known as a “cut up,” he was always joking around and playfully messing with people, bringing laughter wherever he went. Mike will be remembered for his joyful spirit, his sense of humor, and the many good times he shared with family and friends.
Honoring Mike’s wishes he will be cremated with a celebration of life to follow at a later date.
