Mark Henry Mass

Mark Henry Mass, age 77, of Wonder Lake, IL passed away peacefully on May 24, 2021 at Northwestern Hospital in McHenry with his family by his side. He was born on January 3, 1944 in Elgin, Illinois, the son of Arnold and Maxine (Davenport) Mass. He married his beloved wife Judith Watson on April 28, 1979 at Woodstock Courthouse. Mark worked at Woodstock Auto Light for 35 years until its closing, later in life he worked for Brown Printing in Woodstock for 20 years. He enjoyed camping and watching his favorite sport teams, Cubs, Bulls and Bears. In his free time he liked to tinker outside, build things and drive his trucks, but foremost he loved spending time with his family especially when it included water fights that he usually instigated. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed. He is survived by his loving wife Judy; his daughter Tracie (Doug) Gray; step son Jason Justen; his 2 granddaughters: Jamie Lynn Hoffman and Kaia Brem; grandson: Jonathan Gray; his siblings: Stanley (Debbie) Mass and Eleanor (Ed) Station as well as many nieces and nephews and his faithful companion Bandit. He was preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers: Darwin, Myron, Cecil, Jerry, Ronnie and Roger as well as his nephew Edward. Visitation will take place on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry. Funeral Service will begin at 1pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock IL. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the Family, the charity of family choice will be decided at a later date.
