Mark Allen Moody

Mark Allen Moody, born May 2, 1966, in Peoria, Illinois, took off on his final adventure unexpectedly on December 18, 2025, in Aurora, Indiana. True to form, he left us far too soon and very much on his own terms. Mark was a devoted father, an extremely proud grandfather, a loyal brother, and a one-of-a-kind companion whose larger-than-life personality made sure no room was ever too quiet when he was in it.

Mark approached life with enthusiasm, determination, and a loyalty you could always count on. He was hardworking, dependable, and believed in doing things the right way—though he could appreciate a clever shortcut if it saved time and still worked. As a skilled A&P aeronautics mechanic, Mark quite literally kept things flying and took great pride in his craft. His Associate’s degree supported a career driven by his love of aviation, engines, and the satisfaction of figuring things out with his hands.

When he wasn’t working, Mark was happiest outdoors—preferably with a fishing pole, a hunting plan, or both. Nature was his happy place, and he loved sharing it with his children, passing down stories, skills, and probably a few questionable jokes along the way. His greatest joy, however, came from his grandchildren: Landon, Milton, Marleigh, Roselynn, Greyson, Brantley, and Tinslee. They were his pride and joy, his favorite audience, and proof that he had officially earned the right to spoil someone rotten.

Mark is survived by his children: Jenna (Scott) Denison, Jacob Moody, Jesse (Lauren) Moody, Allie Percy, Shianna Blair, Dalton Blair, Dakota Blair, and David Blair—each of whom carries a piece of his humor, stubbornness, and heart. He is also survived by his partners, Shannon Blair and Carrie Frazee, who knew his generous spirit, steady presence, and ability to love deeply (even if he sometimes showed it in his own unique way).

He shared close bonds with his siblings: sisters Angela (Kevin) Gaggin and Michelle (Steve) Willis, and brother Benjamin (the late Shy) Moody. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, James and Susan Moody, and his brother David Moody, whom he surely greeted with a grin and a story to tell.

Mark will be remembered for his quick wit, his love of the outdoors, his unwavering loyalty, and his ability to make people feel like family—whether they were related or not. He left behind a lot of memories, a lot of laughter, and probably a few unfinished projects. While his absence leaves a quiet that feels unfamiliar, his spirit will live on in every story told, every laugh shared, and every moment spent outdoors thinking, “Mark would’ve loved this.”

Visitation for Mark will take place on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, December 30th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.at the Ford Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes located at 23620 N. Huron River Drive, Rockwood, MI 48173. The funeral service will be begin on Tuesday at noon.
