Audry “Bud” Jackson Arnold, age 89, was born on August 3, 1936, in Florence, Alabama; and passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on January 26, 2026, at The Gardens in Carleton, Michigan.
Bud married the love of his life, Judy Resk, on December 20, 1958, and together they shared many years of devotion and family life, and their beloved four children. He worked for over 30 years at General Motors Fisher Body, where he later retired.
A man of faith, Bud was a longtime member of Bethany Baptist Church and the Bethany Men’s Fellowship Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially gardening. He was well known—and famous among family and friends—for his tomatoes, which he proudly shared with everyone. If Bud wasn’t out fishing, he could often be found at Bethany Baptist Church or attending one of his grandchildren’s or great-grandchildren’s many events, always showing his love and support.
He also loved traveling to Tennessee and Alabama to visit family. Bud truly loved being around people and cherished time spent with his family, as well as with his many friends at The Gardens.
Bud is survived by his children: Yvonne Meadors; Greg (Gina) Arnold; Shari (Phillip) Hall; and Kevin (Angelica) Arnold; eight grandchildren: Chasity (Donny) Rorke, Michael (Fallon) Rorke, Brock Hall, Stephany Meadors, Nicole Arnold, Gregory Arnold, Isabelle Arnold and Ava Arnold and six great-grandchildren: Bryce, Kane, Eva, Forrest, Jace and McKenzie.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth; father, Robert; stepfather, James; stepmother, Mary; his beloved wife, Judy; and his brother, Charles.
Bud will be remembered for his kindness, friendliness, and the genuine joy he found in the company of others. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family wishes to thank the staff at The Gardens in Carleton for the tremendous care and unwavering love they showered on Bud.
Visitation will be held at Ford Chapel of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes in Rockwood, on Sunday, February 1, from 2:00–6:00 p.m., with a memorial service at 6:00 p.m., led by Pastor Rex Jones retired pastor at Bethany Baptist Church. Graveside service will take place at 10:30 am on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Riverside Cemetery in South Rockwood, MI. There will a luncheon celebration at 12 pm after the burial at Bethany Baptist Church in memory of Bud; all are welcome to join.
