Mark A. Muckerheide

Mark A. Muckerheide 72 of Greensburg passed away at 7:27 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at his residence. He was born December 29, 1950, in Batesville, the son of John & Frieda (Berkemeier) Muckerheide. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur County and graduated from North Decatur High School in 1968.He worked at Knauf Insulation for over 30 years. He was a member of the Greensburg American Legion Post 129. Mark was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed the Hoosiers, Pacers, Colts, and the Cincinnati Reds. He married Rita Sue Asher on August 7, 1973, in Greensburg, Indiana she preceded him in death on March 8, 1990. He is survived by his son Ryan (Cyndy) Muckerheide of Columbus. His companion Joan Moore of Greensburg; his sisters, Marybeth (Tom) Ruble, Sara (Greg) McKell, and Ruth (Donny) Gauck all of Greensburg; his brothers, Carl (Nancy) Muckerheide of Batesville and Paul (Sue) Muckerheide of Hamilton, Ohio: his grandchildren, JD(Haley) Proffitt, Courtney (Jeremy) Keith, Chelsey (Shane) Metz, Kayli Proffitt, Matthew Gourley and Nathan (Paige) Gourley; and his eighteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Brian Proffitt. The visitation will be held on Thursday, November 9,2023 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Following his wishes, he will be cremated, and burial will occur on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Westport Cemetery with military graveside services.
