Mark L. Neitzel

1967 - 2025

Mark L. Neitzel, age 57 of Oshkosh, passed away at Aurora Medical Center on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. He was born to the late Lester and Joyce (Moon) Neitzel in Oshkosh on June 25, 1967. Mark grew up in Oshkosh and graduated from Oshkosh West High School. Mark married Lori, embracing her daughter Mackenzie Buss as his own. Together with Lori, he welcomed their daughter, Keira Neitzel.

Mark found his calling in the world of welding, starting his career at Arrowhead Conveyor before moving to Barr Refrigeration, and eventually becoming a valued member of the team at Oshkosh Corporation, from which he later retired.

Mark was a devoted father to his daughters. He cherished the time spent outdoors, whether that meant hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying the tranquility of the woods. Known for being a big prankster, he loved to make people laugh and formed connections with everyone he met – truly, he was a people person at heart.

Mark is survived by his daughters, Keira Neitzel and Mackenzie Buss; siblings, Mitchel (Sherry) Meton and Pamela (Robert) Newell; uncles, Dick (godmother, Sandy) Neitzel and Dennis (Chris) Moon. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, mother of his children, Lori Neitzel, as well as many good friends, including Doug Soper.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his good friend, Jim Oppermann.

A celebration of life for Mark will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
