Mark Nesmith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Greer Funeral Home - Mangum on Feb. 4, 2026.
Mark Nesmith, born October 9, 1955, passed away on February 2, 2026, and went to be with our Lord and Savior.

Mark was, above all else, a devoted father and grandfather. His love for his children, grandchildren, family, and friends is something he will always be remembered for. He was the first person to call when something needed fixing or when someone simply needed a helping hand. He was always there for others.

His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren. He could often be found fixing four-wheelers, repairing trampolines, or working on anything else that would make them smile, laugh, and get outside to enjoy life. He was present for every celebration and cherished every moment spent with his family.

Among family and friends, Mark was known for his positive attitude and adventurous spirit. He believed that everything would work out the way it was meant to. He lived life with energy and determination, making each day special and every gathering feel like a celebration. Many evenings were spent standing at the back of a truck, sharing stories, laughter, and enjoying time together - often with a beer or two in hand.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra; his parents, Clinton and Verna Nesmith; his sister, Lynda Cook; and his nephews, Keith and Joseph Cook.

Mark is lovingly survived by his daughters: Codi Gutierrez and son-in-law Lalo, with grandchildren Zoe and Giovanni Gutierrez; Amanda Keister, with grandsons Ryker Stuchell, Kayden Nesmith, and Devon Keister; Kiera King and son-in-law Chris King, with grandsons Blake, Zachary, and Matthew King, and granddaughter-in-law Bethaney King; J.J. Sheward, with grandson Kyler Dobbins.

He is also survived by his sister Lea Ann Powell and her husband Burr; his brother Mike Nesmith and wife Darla; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Mark will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, generosity, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
