Mark Michael Orlowski

Mark Orlowski, age 76, passed away on February 17, 2026. Mark was born on January 30, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, where he grew up and built his working life. In later years, he made his home in Sterling Heights, Michigan. He will be remembered for his independent spirit, steady presence, and the deep loyalty he showed to his family, friends, and the animals he cared for so dearly. Mark, never married, but lived a life shaped by simple joys and enduring passions. He shared a love of the Pontiac GTO with his brother, Ken.

Some of Mark's happiest memories were made fishing for muskies on Lake St. Clair alongside his father. He also generously shared his love of fishing with others, by volunteering as a Big Brother through Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Mark also enjoyed outdoor photography, capturing the beauty of lakes, wildlife, and changing seasons and enjoyed target shooting with his brother and friends on Tuesdays. Later in life, Mark became the grateful recipient of a kidney transplant, a gift that extended his time and allowed him to continue enjoying the pursuits he loved. His compassion extended especially to animals. Mark was actively involved in dog rescue efforts, giving his time and care to help animals find safety and loving homes. His dedication to rescue work reflected his gentle heart and his desire to make a difference in the lives of those who could not speak for themselves. Mark faced personal struggles in recent years, and his family takes comfort in hoping he has found peace. His life was defined not by its ending, but by the memories he created. He is survived by his brother, Kenneth (wife Patricia); his nieces, Kathy Maurer (Warren), Cheryl (Sam) Parise, and Lynn (Michelle) Orlowski; along with extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Orlowski. He will be deeply missed and remembered always.
